Jalene Seah, Founder of sustainable fashion brand Kinquo, took the plunge and started her own business at the height of Covid-19. In this episode of BEAM FORWARD, we find out how Seah keeps herself mentally fit and focused on her journey to entrepreneurship: building a brand and setting herself up for success.

Running a business is no mean feat, especially if it is your first venture. The mental pressure that comes with building and running a business can take a toll and wear on anyone over time. In moments of frustration and doubt, Seah believes surrounding herself with a support system helps her overcome hurdles and develop emotional and mental resilience.

“In every industry, there are people who try to put you down. Use them as reminders to do better. Focus on those who give you positive advice and energy.”

She also talks to us about the importance of sustainability as part of every business now and in the future. “I think sustainability is going to be something that all businesses have to take note of and try to incorporate in their decisions. There are so many communities that are affected by the things we make.”
