Conversations that propel Singapore forward.

Singapore’s Minister for Social and Family Development (MSF) Masagos Zulkifli has declared 2021 as the Year of Celebrating SG Women.

Announced at the Conversations on Singapore Women’s Development session organised by the People’s Association Women’s Integration Network Council (PA-WIN), the initiative was launched in conjunction with the national review on Singapore women’s development.

Milestones that will mark the year-long celebrations include International Women’s Day in March, and legislative reviews, including those involving the Women’s Charter, said Mr Masagos in a Facebook post.

“All of us play a part in cultivating a culture of respect and rapport which are fundamental to furthering the progress for our women, and our society.”

MSF will focus its efforts this year to celebrate the progress and potential of Singapore women, and rally the community as part of this whole-of-society effort.

More than 23 Conversations have been organised since the series launched in September last year, with many more to come before the recommendations and feedback are consolidated in a White Paper later this year.

In the same vein, BEAM dedicates its platform to celebrate women and embrace their brilliance and contribution to the industry and society as a whole. Check out our Women Brilliance page where you’ll find our conversations with SG women in the industry.

They include conversations with Bibiana Lau, Senior Director, Sales at Suntec Singapore, who talked about cultural pressures and challenges that women face; workplace systematic bullying with Serene Law and Jagdish Sandhu of Frozen Lime Asia; and Ailynn Seah and Anthea Tan, of Marina Bay Sands on managing stress and mentorship.

Let us know if there is a topic that supports women and their brilliance.
