Virtual Seoul 2.0 to deliver more business event options and greater access for planners.
The Seoul Convention Bureau has launched a renewed and upgraded 3D MICE event platform, Virtual Seoul 2.0. Four new venues have been added to provide exhibitions and pre-scheduled appointments (PSA), in addition to pre-existing functions, turning it into a total MICE solution for business events.
Its new Content Management System (CMS) allows event planners to customise events at their fingertips without going through any IT staff. With the PLUS SEOUL support for online/hybrid events, event planners can utilise the platform at no extra cost.
Jihyun Kim, Director at Seoul Tourism Organization, shared, “The first version of Virtual Seoul received much attention locally and globally as an innovative case of destination marketing while travelling was strictly restricted. Since Virtual Seoul 2.0 was designed to cover most event types, it will serve as a fully functional event platform to attract more conferences. Hybrid events are not just a trend anymore but another format in the new normal. As one of the pioneers in this new field, it is time to be more active in marketing the platform.”
Starting with Coex, other business event infrastructure and tourist attraction sites have made the venue list of Virtual Seoul 2.0. That includes Nodeul Island, Seoul’s unique venue in Hangang river, Seoul City Hall and Seoul Tourism Plaza. Each serves an outdoor Exhibition Area, Open Stage and Business Meeting Room (Coex serves the same function on the platform).
A total of nine venues in 3D graphics have become more sophisticated, which not only serve as a business events venue but have become attractions themselves. Related exhibition functions have also been added, such as scheduling business meetings between buyers and sellers, exchanging digital business cards and managing a booth with promotional videos and brochures.
To maximise the convenience of utilising the platform, CMS provides event organising functions like setting to broadcast VODs and branding functions to post logos, banners and promotional videos across the platform. Video guides for setting up a conference, corporate meeting, virtual exhibitions or PSA business meetings are available to aid event planners, including a demo page.
