How does Carina beam?
By bringing my whole self and my full presence to whatever I commit to do. By keeping up to date on industry trends and supporting the industry associations and campaigns in a myriad of different ways. By always focussing on ways to advance and grow the business events industry.
Why does allowing ourselves a moment to step away from challenges give different perspectives?
In our pre-COVID world, travel was a chance for me to disconnect, reflect and process ideas. It was often in the airport queue or sitting in a keynote session that the lightbulb moments arrived.
Over the past year, I’ve had to become more deliberate at stepping away – maybe by reading a book, playing some music, going for a run, doing DIY. Whatever those moments are, hold on to them – give your brain time to process what is going on around you, the information streams you are constantly taking in and give yourself the luxury of some time to make your best decisions.
The one thing I would do if I weren’t afraid is…
Move to the mountains and do a triathlon (definitely scared of that!).
