The 158-page Guide features transport options and over 50 venues, accommodations, experiences, and attractions for those who meet, work, and visit the Gold Coast.
The Gold Coast continues to grow its reputation as one of the most accessible and inclusive cities in Australia with the launch of a brand-new Gold Coast Accessible Visitor Guide developed by City of Gold Coast in partnership with Destination Gold Coast.
Destination Gold Coast Interim COO Rachel Hancock said the Gold Coast is fast gaining a reputation as one of the most inclusive cities in Australia and is a preferred destination for all travellers.
“From our airport to accommodation, venues and experiences, we’re proud of the significant progress we’ve made for those who visit,” said Ms Hancock.
“With 2023 being the Year of Accessible Tourism, the Gold Coast sees this as an opportunity to ignite change and create opportunities for the city’s tourism businesses,” she said.
In addition to the Guide, Accessible Audio Guides have been launched on Vacayit, a leading accessibility app providing sensory audio guides across Australia in partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland.
Destination Gold Coast’s Head of Business Events Brooke Campbell said these amazing resources are an important step forward in ensuring that all abilities are considered, acknowledged, and catered for. “We know that one in five people have a disability in Australia,” said Mrs Campbell.
“The Gold Coast is a destination for everyone, not just for holiday makers, but meeting planners, professional conference organisers and incentive groups.
“All guests and delegates travelling to the Gold Coast can be confident that they are arriving at an inclusive and accessible destination where we are making constant improvements to the services and information available for all abilities,” she said.
The Guide can be found on the Destination Gold Coast’s dedicated Accessible Page.
