SHE BRILLIANCE believes in equal opportunities for women and launches offline knowledge-sharing for its community at Marina Bay Sands.
In support of Singapore’s year of celebrating women, three passionate professionals in Singapore created a meaningful movement with a vision for women to aspire towards a purposeful life and lead change confidently.
“My vision for women is to step up and take action. To be conscious and intentional with the dream that they want to fulfil,” said Singaporean women in leadership maven Kim Underhill when explaining her inspiration to start the SHE BRILLIANCE movement with Kate Sibbett and BEAM Founder El Kwang.
The movement comprises a complimentary “befriender” mentorship programme connecting The Emerging, a SHE BRILLIANCE term for mentees, with The Experienced (mentors). In addition, the organisation calls for women and men who believe in women’s brilliance to join its community as mentors and mentees.
The movement will officially begin with an inaugural in-person event on Friday, 29 October 2021, at Marina Bay Sands. With a fundraising goal of S$50,000, 100 per cent of the event’s profit will go towards Singapore’s leading women charity organisation, Daughters of Tomorrow.
The event curated ten 90-minute interactive workshops for an anticipated attendance of 200 women. Sibbett, a business event professional turned wellness entrepreneur said: “From corporate leadership to positivity and wellness workshops, we want women to take action and start owning their value and worth. Even if they feel like a failure, we want to provide them with an ecosystem that they can lean into each other and thrive.”
Kwang attributes his accomplishments to women who gave him opportunities to flourish. He is looking forward to managing this in-person event with partners CWT Meetings & Events and Marina Bay Sands.
“With the help of these experts who understand the complexity of managing live events, we are fulfilling our vision of creating a peer-to-peer learning experience that is both physically and psychologically safe for the SHE BRILLIANCE community. For that, we are immensely grateful,” explained Kwang.
